Ming Chuan Tourism Reaches Across the Sea to Care for Alumni — Reconnecting with Students and Faculty in Tokyo

Ming Chuan Tourism’s Care for Students Knows No Time or Distance — Tokyo Alumni Reunion

Our Class of 2020 Japanese alumni, Nobuki Higashi and Karyō Ōyama, returned to Japan to begin their careers after graduation. In July, Director Lin Yi-Hsien and Professor Ku Bi-Shen visited Japan for a conference and made a special appointment to meet these two alumni working in Tokyo—sharing a meal and catching up on life and work.

The conversation was filled with laughter and memories:

  • Who was the “course boss,” and who was the zen-like professor?
  • First time living away from home—learning to cook in Taiwan
  • Warmly helpful Taiwanese classmates vs. merciless pranksters
  • Campus life at Ming Chuan—still vivid as ever

Both alumni said that, if given the chance, they would love to return to Taiwan to live and work someday—words that deeply warmed our faculty’s hearts.

Naturally, we also had a video call with their homeroom teacher, Mr. Liu Shih-Hao. The students were touched that Mr. Liu still remembered them (?!), and Mr. Liu boldly promised he would fly to Tokyo to visit them too!

At Ming Chuan Tourism, our care goes beyond classroom learning:

  • When you face challenges, we offer reminders, guidance, and sincere companionship.
  • After graduation, we remain a supportive presence in your life.
  • Have questions? Consider us “lifetime warranty”—consultations free of charge.
  • Want to meet up? We’re always ready to see you.

Who will be the next alumni to join a reunion with our faculty? Stay tuned.
